Need help with applying for jobs - Employability Courses

The OCR Employability Skills suite of qualifications provides you with high quality, industry recognised, qualifications. They are vocationally-related qualifications that provide valuable opportunities for you to develop skills and gain underpinning knowledge and understanding which will support entry into, and progress within employment.

What levels are available?

The qualifications are available at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2, with the content enabling you to progress through the levels. These qualifications have been accredited as part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). Entry Level and Level 1 will be included in the Foundation Learning Tier.

What units are available?

  • Assessing myself for work
  • Learning to be financially capable
  • Preparing for and learning from interviews
  • Learning about the range of opportunities in work
  • Presenting personal information effectively
  • Carrying out and learning from  practical tasks set in a work context
  • Learning about workplace values and practices
  • Preparing for and learning from a work placement

How are they assessed?

The Employability qualifications consist of tasks assessed by your tutor in the centre.

Where they can lead?

  • Employability qualifications are based on national standards, so everyone, including potential employers, can see what you're capable of. They can:
  • give you more confidence in your own abilities
  • show what you have achieved in your learning programme
  • boost your CV
  • help you get onto other courses such as NVQs

Location

The Employability Skills courses are available in our centres in Tunbridge Wells, Sittingbourne, Canterbury, Chatham, Gravesend, Dartford, Grays, Southend, Bromley and Maidstone (with others to follow!).

Cost

All Employability Skills courses are FREE for learners in receipt if JSA or ESA. Other benefits may be eligible. You'll need to be 19 or over.
