Next Step gives you access to information, careers advice and resources, which can help you make more effective skills, work and life choices. Go Train is happy to be able to offer this service throughout the South East region.

What is the Next Step service?

Next Step provides information and advice to support adults in making appropriate decisions on a full range of learning and work opportunities.

Go Train Ltd want you to be able to choose how to access our advice so we offer a contact centre, a website and also a valuable group or 1:1, face-to-face service.

The service is:

• free to all adults in England
• confidential
• impartial
• delivered by qualified careers advisers at each of our centres
• delivered in accordance with the National IAG Board Principles
• available to all learners from our centres in Dartford, Gravesend, Maidstone, Chatham, Sittingbourne, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.

What does a Next Step session include?

During the 1 hour face to face session, or a morning / afternoon group session our trained advisers will be able to offer you the following:

• advice and guidance – either on a 1:1 basis, or in a more informal group environment
• access to an online course directory, containing over 750 job profiles
• a skills health check – to look at your current skills and abilities
• help to build an impressive looking CV
• help and advice on learning and work
• information on local market trends and requirements – who is recruiting? What jobs are in demand? What qualifications are needed? etc
• help to search the local job market and apply for jobs
• the skills and practice to brush up on your interview skills.
• complete application forms, and brush up on assessment centre requirements

Cost

A Next Step session is FREE for learners on JSA or ESA. Other benefits may be eligible. You'll need to be 19 or over.
