Personal Life Skills Courses

The OCR Personal Life Skills suite of qualifications provides you with high quality, industry recognised, qualifications. They are vocationally-related qualifications that provide valuable opportunities for you to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to manage life and future opportunities The qualifications cover themes such as:

  • The importance of relationships
  • Diversity, discrimination and prejudice within society
  • Ways to maintain good physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing
  • Skills and personal attributes needed for the workplace

What levels are available?

The qualifications are available at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2, with the content enabling you to progress through the levels. These qualifications have been accredited as part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). Entry Level and Level 1 will be included in the Foundation Learning Tier.

What units are available?

  • Identifying risk and making personal decisions
  • Introducing personal health and wellbeing
  • Learning to be financially capable
  • Forming relationships and understanding others
  • Assessing myself for work

How are they assessed?

The Personal Life Skills qualifications consist of tasks assessed by your tutor in the centre.

Where they can lead?

Candidates have the opportunity to progress within the suite of qualifications. For example, a candidate achieving an OCR Entry Level 3 Certificate in Personal Life Skills may get recognition for higher level achievement by progressing to the OCR Level 1 Certificate in Personal Life Skills.

The OCR Employability Skills Suite of qualifications uses two units from the Personal Life Skills suite:

  • Assessing myself for work at Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2
  • Learning to be financially capable at Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2.

Further units can be added for an Employability Skills qualification.

Cost

All Personal Life Skills courses are FREE for learners on JSA or ESA. Other benefits may be eligible. You'll need to be 19 or over.
