Go Train are hugely proud to have taken on 30 new Kickstart trainees during the height of the pandemic – offering training and 25 hours a week guaranteed work for 6 months.

Before joining Go Train, Calum Battaglia from Dartford, struggled with anxiety, meaning he found it difficult to stay in employment, often feeling misunderstood. He recently completed the 6 month Kickstart Scheme and will always remember Go-Train as ‘the company that got him back on his feet and to believe in himself’.

Callum tells us his transformative story; “My Work Coach at Jobcentre Plus made me feel at ease, informing me that Go-Train is disability confident, mental health aware and do not discriminate in any way.

When I first started with Go Train as a trainee administrator, I was intensely anxious as I had never worked in admin before, I nearly let my mental health ruin this opportunity for me.

Words cannot describe the new person I have become since working with Go Train, it is all I have ever wanted within my place of work.

The Go Train Kickstart Scheme is such an amazing process what they are doing for us youngsters who feel excluded and have no optimism going for them. It has made my outlook on employment so different to the extent of now realising that I can be myself and professional at the same time.”

Steven Wines, CEO of Go Train, “I’m thrilled we could offer the Kickstart Scheme to so many young people like Callum during the pandemic. Our Covid-safe training centres are now open and offer face-to-face training to help people of all ages and backgrounds get back to work.”
