Go Train are partnering with a well-recognised charity that supports vulnerable and marginalised people. The charity helps people transform their lives, providing accommodation and helping them gain the skills, confidence, and opportunities to have a fulfilled life. We are supporting people with training to provide a gateway into some of these vital roles on society. The roles are split into 3 key area’s below to include housing support, night support and supported living.

Job Description

All the roles require a flexible approach and involve the delivery of all aspects of care to promote independence, be that in a client’s own home or within one of the charities centres supporting veterans or mental health. All roles have different salary bands and Go Train will work with you to ascertain which level is right for you and support. An example of duties within each role are outlined below:

Housing Support Worker

  • Providing support for Veterans or Young People so they may work towards maximising their independence.
  • Fully support the daily requirements of the project, undertaking person centred key-working especially risk assessment and goal orientated support planning.
  • Ensuring those you are supporting are in receipt of appropriate benefits and access all statutory and charitable support.
  • Keep rent payments up to date, encourage local fundraising and ensure compliance across Health & Safety and Financial requirements.
  • You shall ideally be educated to NVQ3 or the relevant experience for role.
  • The hours are 37.5 p/w to work as part of a flexible rota, to include some unsocial hours at weekends, Bank holidays and evenings.
  • Salary up to £18,622.50, plus 10% enhancement for unsociable hours from 11pm to 7am. Holidays 24 days plus Bank Holidays.
  • A full driving licence with business insurance and the use of a road worthy vehicle essential.

Young Peoples Support Worker

  • Providing users with practical assistance, advice, advocacy, and support in order to develop their skills and work toward maximising their independence.
  • To support clients as set out in the support plan, which includes social and leisure activities.
  • Assisting with practical social care tasks in the home, to include menu planning, cooking, shopping, budgeting and money management, benefit claims, managing tenancy and dealing with bills.
  • Encouraging a healthy lifestyle, attending medical appointments, developing support networks, and upholding internal policy and procedure.
  • You shall ideally be educated to NVQ3 or the relevant experience for role.
  • The hours can be a mixture of full-time and part-time rota, to include some unsociable hours at weekends, Bank holidays and evenings.
  • Salary up to £9.55, plus sleepovers paid at £50 per night. Holidays 24 days plus Bank Holidays.
  • A full driving licence with business insurance and the use of a road worthy vehicle essential.

Support Worker – Waking Nights

  • Working as part of a team responsible for the wellbeing of service users.
  • Provide service users with practical assistance, advice, advocacy, and support in order that they might develop their skills and work toward maximising their independence.
  • Ensuring all night-time and curfew procedures are carried out.
  • Encouraging a healthy lifestyle, attending medical appointments, developing support networks, and upholding internal policy and procedure.
  • You shall ideally be educated to NVQ3 or the relevant experience for role.
  • The hours are 37.5 p/w to work as part of a flexible rota, to include some unsocial hours at weekends, Bank holidays and evenings.
  • Salary up to £18,622.50, plus 10% enhancement for unsociable hours from 11pm to 7am. Holidays 24 days plus Bank Holidays.
  • A full driving licence with business insurance and the use of a road worthy vehicle essential.
