Go Train held a Jobs Fair at our office in the Black Country in partnership with Serco UK
 
 
12 local and regional employers attended from diverse sectors including: Hospitality and Catering, Health and Social Care, Traffic Management, Children’s Support and Working from Home roles to mention a few.
 
 
The event was very successful and we have received positive feedback from both attendees and employers who attended.

I found this event really useful, someone I know attended this morning and told me how good it was. I must admit, I did feel really nervous about coming but everyone has made me feel so welcome, like a real person who mattered. Everyone has been really positive, not like some Jobs Fairs I have attended previously.

The event was designed to support Restart Scheme Participants across the Black Country and was attended by over 300 individuals.
 
Interviews have been booked and second stage applications secured with the help of a dedicated team on hand to provide support and guidance wherever needed to help individuals achieve their ambitions.
 

I have just completed a First Aid course relating to domestic violence as I want to work helping women who need support to get their lives back on track. I have made several job applications today including the Working from Home opportunity and the coaching job with Go Train.

Although Workpays told me to attend, I was feeling nervous but felt so welcomed as soon I walked into the room by all the friendly staff, here to help me.   I have really enjoyed the interaction with Serco staff who have been so encouraging and reassuring, giving me guidance on what type of roles I can apply for.  They have made me feel more empowered” – Aliko Wilcox

…  Between me and my colleague we have spoken to over 20 participants and there are at least 6 or 7 people we hope to be able to help into employment.

I do a lot of large Jobs Fair events at sporting venues such as The Molineux and Villa Park where there is a payment to exhibit.  I have preferred the way today’s event has been organised and set out as it has given us the chance to sit down and really speak to the attendees.  I have already emailed the participants we are interested in, requesting their CV’s and my next steps will be to arrange their interviews” – Cambian Group – Sam Chambers, Regional Recruiter
